Kick-off meeting of the BLACK SEA WATCH project

On 28.3.2016 kick-off meeting of organizations, partners in the project "Black Sea Marine Environment Research With Public Participation" was held - Green Balkans NGO (Bulgaria) and "TÜDAV" (Turkey). The meeting took place in Istanbul, Turkey at the office of TUDAV Foundation in Beykoz overlooking the Bosphorus. The main topics discussed at the meeting were review of project objectives and activities, expected results and timetable for implementation of different project activities, and distribution of tasks between partners. Indicative list of different taxonomical groups organisms to be included in the applet was drafted and discussedof. Experts discussed and elaborated a structure, which will be used for description of the information for each species to be included in the application for smartphones, with a working title “Black sea watch”, and its elements - image, structure of text for each species, map of distribution, conservation status, and sources of information. Technical issues and design of the applet was discussed with expert in web design. It is envisaged that by the end of April all necessary information will be collected and texts for each species will be drafted. Then a workshop with external experts will be organized for final clarifications of contents. It will be held in Bulgaria.
