During the past weeks the team of BLACK SEA WATCH “Black Sea Marine Environment Research With Public Participation” project has been actively disseminationg the project leaflet presenting the tools developed within the project – smart phone app and website. From the beginning of August the dissemination has started first from the northhern Bulgarian Black Sea coast – Shabla, Balchik, Kavarna and continued towards Varna , Byala and Obzor. The project leaflets are disseminated at Tourist Information Centres, hotels, campings and beach bars. Project team was invited to present the project during 70th anniversary of Sea Club Balchik, too.
Main goal of the project is to protect Black Sea marine biodiversity with the means of citizen science that is attracting amateur naturalists from all walks of life. Using a contemporary tool like smart phone application (working under Android and iOS operation systems) and website allow each interested citizen to become marine scientist and collect data on Black Sea biodiversity.
