In the period July 27 - August 1, the Green Balkans' summer expedition was held to study the populations of seabirds and cetaceans in the Bulgarian territorial waters of the Black Sea. It is part of the program of the organization for research and conservation of cetaceans in our sea, within which such expeditions are regularly carried out for the fifth consecutive year. The purpose of these studies is to fill the lack of data on these marine inhabitants to assess the status of their populations and the introduction of adequate and effective measures for their protection.

The final Workshop on the CeNoBS project

The final meeting of the CeNoBS project was held on June 9th and 10th in the conference hall of the Roslin Central Park Hotel in Sofia, bringing together experts who had worked for two years to conduct unprecedented research on the Black Sea. The meeting was attended by representatives of the MoEW, BSBD, EEA, the ACCOBAMS Secretariat, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests - Romania, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources - Ukraine, scientific institutions from the country and abroad, NGOs and others.

The Green Balkans' spring survey of marine birds and mammals in the Black Sea has ended. After some waiting for suitable forecast and compliance with the weather conditions, on May 10 we started the transect study from Balchik. With the alternation of almost ideal conditions and worsening of the weather, we managed to complete the transects in the planned period.
