On 17.05.2016 at Pomorie an expert workshop was held within framework of the project "Black Sea Marine Environment Research With Public Participation". At the workshop participated specialists from Green Balkans NGO, Bulgaria and    TÜDAV Foundation, Turkey”(Турция) as well as external experts on different taxonomic groups that will be included in the mobile application BLACK SEA WATCH. It is directed towards development and promotion of citizen science among local population and guests to the Black Sea coast.

For dumping your four star seaside hotel to help carry Pomorian mud at the lake, for forgetting your lazy Saturday to wake up early and look for a bat or a bird, or even to look after other volunteers.

From 13th to 15th November one more exciting practical training was held within the project “Citizens’ support for study of Black Sea cetaceans along Bulgarian coast”. The participants had the chance to learn in theory how to identify Black Sea cetaceans during encounters in the sea and to put in practice what they have learnt.

On 16 and 17 April in Menton, France was held ACCOBAMS Black Sea Regional workshop. The main goal of the meeting was to present and review the progress on implementation of the Work Program for the Trienium (2014-2016) by Parties to the Agreement as well as to set priorities for the next period to be discussed at the next Meeting of Parties to be held at Monaco in 2016.

Green Balkans NGO has published “Manual for data collection from stranded Cetaceans along Bulgarian Black Sea coast”. The book aims to support municipal ecologists, experts from Regional Environmental Inspectorates and Fisheries Agency and volunteers of the National Cetacean Strandings Monitoring Network for correct collection of data from such cases.
