A team of Green Balkans met with employees of the Center for Nature and Animal Protection in Dobrich. The topic of discussion was once again ocean literacy and the huge need our society has for environmental education.
The mission continued in Burgas. There, employees from the Environment Directorate of the Burgas Municipality actively participated in the training. The experts discussed current topics related to the sustainable development of the region and the protection of the marine environment.
The aim of these meetings is to prepare and motivate municipal and state officials to conduct similar trainings with young people from all professional fields in their municipalities. By doing so, we hope to achieve a level of environmental and ocean literacy that will guarantee the protection of wild marine ecosystems, their sustainable use and, accordingly, the conservation of the resources they provide to our society.
The training is conducted within the framework of project BSB00432 "Environmental Education and Ocean Literacy in the Black Sea Basin", co-financed by the EU through the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027 program.
