Another EOL adventure with an important mission has come to an end - to convey the passion and motivation for the protection of marine ecosystems to as many young people as possible. During 4 days, we managed to build not only a team of future trainers, but also precious friendships.
The training for trainers took place in Burgas from May 26 to 29. Representatives from Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece took part in it. During the event, the participants learned little-known facts about the Black Sea ecosystems, improved their teamwork skills and mastered non-formal learning methods.
We complemented the interactive sessions with a thematic excursion - a visit to the capital of birds in Bulgaria, Atanasovsko Lake and the cultural-historical complex Chengene Skele, where the participants got to know the exciting history of the region and fishing in the Black Sea throughout the centuries.
It was a privilege for us to meet such inspired and enthusiastic people who shared their love for nature and the sea, exchanged experiences and knowledge, and built connections and future partnerships.
Marine ecosystems are irreplaceable for us humans. Directly or indirectly, they provide all the necessary resources to our society. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to get to know them, to learn how they function, because their protection is a collective responsibility of all of us. But we are already sure that with such people, the future of the Black Sea is more than optimistic.
The training was held within the framework of the project BSB00432 "Environmental Education and Ocean Literacy in the Black Sea Basin", co-financed by the EU through the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027 program.
