Ocean literacy training in Ahtopol

...
03.07.2025
This week, within the framework of the EOL project, Green Balkans staff conducted an environmental and ocean literacy training with students from the Department of Zoology at the Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. The main goal of the event was to provoke young future scientists to think about the role of the sea and wild ecosystems in our lives and why it is important to protect them.

Young people are the future of our society. Their responsibility will be to preserve wildlife and the resources it provides us. Their mission is to talk about what they have learned with their peers, to infect more young people with their motivation to do what is still missing in our societies – a sense of duty and concern for environmental problems. Because not only the personal decisions we make every day, but also the quality of work of all state institutions depend on all of us.

The training was held within the framework of the project BSB00432 "Environmental Education and Ocean Literacy in the Black Sea Basin", co-financed by the EU through the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027 program.
